The Problem
21 incarcerated youth.
55 gallons of paint.
One larger than life outcome.
We worked with One Kind Act a Day to produce content promoting a new mural at the Farmington Bay Youth Center, a juvenile detention center in Farmington, Utah. After visiting the center, getting to know those involved, and assisting in production we were inspired by One Kind Act a Day’s mission.
Introducing their Kindness Curriculum to a juvenile detention facility marked the beginning of a profound transformation.
A key element of this transformation was a powerful mural created by artist Tracy Williams, with the youth playing a vital role in bringing it to life.
At the mural’s center, the words “The Marathon Continues” stand as a poignant reminder of the students’ ongoing journeys—full of challenges, resilience, and hope. Working with Williams, the students helped paint the vibrant imagery, sharing their stories and contributing their visions. This hands-on collaboration fostered a sense of pride, unity, and ownership, reinforcing the program’s message of self-worth and collective growth.
Through art and action, One Kind Act a Day is proving that kindness isn’t just a value—it’s a catalyst for lasting change.
Creative
To help share this inspiring story, our team created a series of graphics and videos in various formats, such as a mini-documentary, shorter clips optimized for social media, and visual graphics. Each piece was crafted to capture the emotion and impact of the program, drawing viewers to discover the work of One Kind Act a Day and the rest of their remarkable efforts.
Results
The curriculum’s message of empathy and understanding not only resonated with the youth but also significantly impacted their behavior.
In just one month, reported incidents dropped by over 65%, turning what was once one of the state’s highest rates into one of the lowest.
